Images have just been released from the highly anticipated 'Django Unchained. The upcoming film from acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino has an all star cast consisting of Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz hits theaters later this year. The film follows "a slave-turned-bounty hunter who sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner." I am sad to admit I am a tad late to the "Tarantino is brilliant" party however I am happy to arrived and am really looking forward to this film.

Chris Hardwick, founder of the Nerdist site and it's offspring (their Youtube Channel, and Podcast) is unintentionally making being a nerd cool. The all encompassing Nerdist industries makes nerd talk/nerdy subjects (in the stereotypical sense) fun and interesting. One cool thing that Chris and the Nerdist peeps do is host a celebrity bowling match for charity. And this weeks contestants were none other then the men of Mad Men!

Lawless, a project based on true events about two outlaw brothers during the time of Prohibition was originally titled The Wettest County (which I think is a way better title). The film, directed by John Hillcoat (The Road) pits Labeouf and Hardy against the Sheriff in town (played by Guy Pierce). Things get really interesting when the brothers realize they can make some serious dough with their liquor.
The film looks intense, full of suspense and lots of actions. It also looks like were going to get that classic Shia charm which should add for some funny moments.

Now while most of you may know Harry Shum Jr. as the funny and super talented dancer, Mike Chang on Glee there's a badass side to this guy that shows up in his latest project Already Gone. In the film Shum plays an accomplice to a man named Jude Mulvey played by (Shawn Ashmore) that has taken his fate into his own hands and is taking out the bad guys head on!
What's really cool about the project brought to us by director Ross Ching and writer Bill Balas is that it's experimenting in how films get made. The short is a marketing tool utilized to gain interest in hopes of creating a Feature Length movie.

So what's next for the star of the biggest film franchise out right now....well a low budget horror flick of course! Jennifer Lawrence from The Hunger Games new project will be the thriller/horror flick House at the end of the Street. And while the name alone as well as it's concept may not be compelling enough to draw you in it seems like there's a little more to this flick than what meets the eye. Here's the synopsis:
Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Elisabeth Shue) and her daughter Elissa (Lawrence) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared – leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah’s wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan – and the closer they get, the deeper they’re all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined. What I love so much about the new genre of Horror that is being given birth by films like the recent Cabin in the Woods is the high concept horror movie. Now a days it seems like movie studios have more faith in it's audience goer than before. They seem obliged to give us more than just the blood and gore.

After not having aired an episode of the the show since Feb. 21st Glee returned to answer some of our lingering questions from it's last episode, which was filled with dramatic events covering some very topical issues happening in the teen community right now. However, it wasn't quite the episode one might have been expected.

The Network definitely seems to be making some MAJOR changes in it's programming as of lately. Axing show like Hung and How to Make it is America and bringing on board Aaron Sorkin's (Social Network, West Wing, Moneyball) show Newsroom as well Veep starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. And while both shows covers politics they approach the issue in drastically different ways! Veep tends to make fun of political issue and Dreyfus plays somewhat of a Sarah Palin figure but in a way that doesn't seem phony or overdone but just funny. Sorkin's Newsroom on the other hand takes the issue of our current times and faces them head on in a very dramatic way. Both look amazing and I'm excited to see where these shows go and how they do.
