I remember it so clearly, as if it were yesterday.  Standing up at my desk, red in the face, gasping for breaths between my my sentences as I couldn't get my points out fast enough.  I was in my film and politics class at Pitt and arguing as to why Forrest Gump is one of the best political films ever made.

You could say I was pretty spunky and opinionated in College.  I at times naively and blindly defended my side of arguments in those days. But after much thought this is one belief I still hold true. Robert Zemeckis genius directing and Tom Hanks portrayal of this 'dumb' and simple man brings Winston Groom's book to life and makes for one of the most entertaining ways to take a look at our Nations sordid past.

Alright guys and gals, I'm bringing back 'throwback thursday' with bang! First, I did it with some classic music videos feat. (tlc, lfo, backstreet, 'Nsync) which you can search for on the site. But with my love of movies I thought it'd be a blast to do the same thing with movie trailers. So I'm kicking it off with Clueless.  And if you think I'm just going to tell you the all same stuff you've already heard before about the film 'as if'!

Fashionista, talk show host and all around cool girl Kristina Zias first got on my radar for her interesting take on Men's Fashion. Being into Men's fashion myself I found it so cool to come across another woman out there who digs it as much as I do! We chat about how she got her start in fashion, why confidence plays a big part of rocking what you wear rather than the actual clothes and about going after what you want. Check it out!

So tell us a little about yourself.. how'd you get into fashion..etc...

I got into fashion at a very young age because of my mom. My sister and I were for sure the best dressed kids in the neighborhood. My mom would make a lot of our clothes and always made sure we knew how important it was to look nice and presentable. I don't think I have ever really seen my parents in sweats. I really got into fashion when I started working at Nordstrom during my freshman year of college. My love of clothing went beyond dressing nicely but as a salesperson there I was able to help others transform their style and it was so much fun.

Being healthy in Pittsburgh has never been so easy, thanks to Anthony and Joe Vennare (yup, you guessed it they're bros). But not those kind of bro's, like the related kind). They launched Fittsburgh, a site about healthy eating and living here in Pittsburgh just this past May, and it is already taking off! Pittsburghers are clearly in dire need of change and variety for ways to move and eat well here in the 'Steel City.'  The Vennare brothers make this possible by providing a resource to find locally grown food and all unique (and most importantly FUN) ways to workout!  Pittsburgh is an amazing smorgasbord for all sorts of amazing food and fitness styles that thanks to Joe and Anthony we are no longer blind to!  I  recently had the pleasure of chatting with Anthony, one half of this dynamic duo, about fitness, food and doing what you love.

It seems that with each passing year we get less and less music with meaning, music that has soul, music with a message. THANK GOODNESS these guys came along! MKTO consist of Tony Oller and Malcolm Kelley. Two former Nickelodeon stars that decided to break out, grow up and put music out there to inspire and make people feel good.

In their self titled debut album they touch on issues of being bullied to showing some respect to women.  Much like their single 'Classic' that's blowing up right are these guys style. They may be younger but they have a cool old school vibe that I really dig. Not since Macklemore's  'Same Love' have I heard and really felt such passion emanating through  my speakers. I think I really like these guys so much because there here to uplift and inspire people to dream and dream BIG.  This is something that has drastically gone away in a day and age of fast pace living and even faster money.
