Needless to say, everyone (myself included) was pretty blown away with Lady Gaga's 'gender bending' performance at this years' VMA's. However, it has recently been brought to our attention that her alter ego Joe Calderone isn't exactly as shocking and groundbreaking as we may have first been lead to believe. Back in 1984 the well known Pop singer Annie Lenox performed as a male alter ego long before Calderone's eccentric appearance at the 2011 VMA's. Now, I'm not trying to take anything away from Gaga or her talent it just seems as though she 'borrows' a lot of things and attempts to pass them off as her own. At least when 'Puff Daddy' did it back in the 90's he embraced his sampling/song stealing! What do you guys think??
