John Mayer's New View of the World in 'Queen of California" Video

A John Mayer with no smoldering glances, no snarky comments, no facade...THAT'S the John Mayer that we get in the video for his latest single, "Queen of California".  And I must say, it's a breath of fresh air!  After John hiatus from the spotlight after a slew of interviews depicted him on not-so-flattering light. I for one am really enjoying the more mature John.  The song and video are great.  I especially enjoyed the ending of the video with "Back to one" quote from the director which defintely seems to mirror John's new approach on life.  What do you guys think??

Is Connor Maynard the Future of Pop Music? If so, How do YOU feel About this??

I happened to stumble across this guy a few days ago not gonna lie I can't stop listening to his single "Vegas Girl" over and and over!  Yes, silly title, and they filmed it in NYC  so it makes even LESS sense however, the beat is catchy as hell and the video is super fun which makes the music enjoying experience even better.  But with all this said is 19-year-old British Pop star Connor Maynard the new face of Pop music?  Is this where the future of Pop is heading?? Honestly, I would say a definitive YES.  If this is a good thing or not is a whole other story.

I say this because now, more than ever Pop music tends to have less of a meaning behind its lyrics.  Not to say that is always a bad thing.Today's Pop music tends resemble a Blockbuster movie experience so to speak. With the whole purpose being to make us dance have fun and that's exactly what this song accomplishes!   But just because it's fun does it mean it can lack a sense of  depth??  You be the judge.

Check out Connor Maynard's "Vegas Girl" here!  I DARE you to not dance your butt of to this!!

ABC Family Goes Country with Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere in New Show 'Nashville'

Despite it's cheesy voice over ABC Family's new show Nashville seems to have a lot of potential.  What really makes the show so strong is it's cast consisting of Connie Brittion (Friday Night LightsAmerican Horror Story) and Hayden Panettiere (Heroes, Scream 4).  The show revolves around Brittion's character a star country singer whose label wants her to be more of a corssover artisit to seel more records. And to makes this more of a possibility they put her on tour with Panettiere's character, a Taylor Swift type Pop/Country star with a bad attitude.  I think this shows looks heart warming and lot of fun.  I just hope they can keep teh less than appealing 'cheese' factor out of the show and let it do it's thing.  I have the utmost faith in Brittion to lead this crew! Check out the trailer here!

'Superman: Man of Steel' Trailer Shows Great Potential!

The long awaited trailer of Zack Snyder's (300, Watchmen) Superman: Man of Steel trailer is finally here. After much hesitation I am ecstatic at the semblance of the kind of film we're going to get. Although there is not much footage, the gritty footage that we do get is fantastic! Although Snyder's track record has not been stellar as of late, he is super innovative and a great visionary.  And I feel under the tutelage of Christopher Nolan that Snyder will be able to reign in all of his ideas and tell a more coherent and concise story. In the end however, the real question is will this new attempt at tackling Superman soar above the its 2006 predecessor Superman Returns ??

Married to Jonas: In Laws and Rock and Roll! Sort of....

It's the early 2000's all over again and the JoBro's are taking over ou airwaves!  So since this blog is 'Reality by Rach' I feel like I wouldn't be doing my duty if I didn't catch you guys up on the newest reality TV shows coming our way! Married  to Jonas follows the life of the fairly newly married oldest Jonas brother Kevin and his wife Danielle.

The trailer for the show is quite reminiscent of Newlyweds the infamous show feat. Nick Lachey and ex wife Jessica Simpson.  The antics of in laws and the dynamic of these two was pretty comical and very familiar to real life relationships scenarios. And for those hoping to see the holy trinity of Nick, Joe and Kevin, don't you worry! It seems like the boys will be making plenty of appearances.

Does Tom Cruise Reach a New Level of Badassness in 'Jack Reacher' trailer?

Last Fall Cruise and crew set up camp in Pittsburgh, Pa for their latest endeavor Jack Reacher formerly  titled One Shot. In what is being compared to a 'Bourne like' film that could potentially have more films depending on how it does.

In the film Cruise plays Jack Reacher a cop that works outside the limits of the law and will stop at nothing to take a sniper who killed a group of innocent people. The project, helmed by Christopher McQuarrie (The Tourist, Wolverine, Jack and the Giant Killer) seems gritty and dark based on the little tease we get in the trailer.

The film looks as though it could have potential to be a pretty great action film.  Especially looking forward to this hitting theaters in December in the bleak days of Winter where decent films in the theaters are sparse, so hopefully this will be a little something for us to nibble on.  Lastly, the film introduces us to up and comers Jai Courtney and Joseph Sikora. I had a chance to catch up with Writer/Director Chris McQuarrie as well as Jai and Joe while they were in Pittsburgh and seemed pretty excited about their dark action flick.  Pics and trailer after the jump!
